Trends in Online Social Collaboration

Changing times call for changing trends.

It seems like every day there's some new Social Network coming up with new an cleaver ways to show us how to connect with the things, people and situations we love.

We are now able to connect with old classmates, share our music taste with our friends, find groups with similar interest and even find the love of our lives (or so we hope).

Well, brace yourselves because there's now a growing trend towards a even more collaborative culture. You are probably already familiar with craigslist and its hidden power to find anything / enyone / anywhere you are looking for.
Now this trend for finding matching good and services has exploded and can now be somewhat divided into different groups: exchange or services, exchange of goods,  rentals, ride sharing and even home sharing.
Up and coming startups like Zaarly and GigWalk (both available as apps) match you up with goods and services found in your area. Looking for someone to help you clean up your basement? Just enter your zip code and post your offer.
Have a more adventurous spirit and would like to travel the world? Then Couch Surfing is the new way to travel almost for free. You can even search for a ride with a car sharing website like Erideshare.

Got a college degree form a great university or an online school? Start a freelancing career in your area of expertise with sites like Guru and oDesk

There are so many ways to connect with people and find what we are looking for and the New Collaborative Networks are making a dent in history by bringing us all together.
